Man arrested at taxi meetingThe 39 year old man from Roodepoort was arrested in Zeerust for negligence handling of a firearm. The Transport Directorate of the North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management met taxi operators in Zeerust. The man continuously disrupted the meeting held on Sunday, 05 January 2020. Initially he refuted allegations that he had a firearm with him. It was later found out that he had the licensed 9mm firearm, and one magazine. He was arrested immediately for negligence handling and will appear at the Zeerust court on Monday 07 January 2020. The meeting was to intervene between taxi operators travelling between Zeerust and Roodepoort in Gauteng. The meeting went well and ended amicably albeit regrettable incident of one of them being arrested. END Next Articles+ |
